Hello, my name is Stephanie, and I am a Registered Psychologist with over nine years of experience, holding a Master of Counselling and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. I provide a supportive, trauma-informed, LGBTQ+ affirming, and culturally responsive space to help clients navigate life's challenges and achieve their goals. I also offer in-person dog-assisted therapy with my trained therapy dog, Sophie, for added comfort and engagement!
I believe that therapy works best when it provides you with the support and empowerment that you need to process life’s challenges, while also teaching you new skills to navigate these challenges more effectively. I work collaboratively with you to identify what you’re already good at (your strengths) and what matters most to you (your values), so that we can work together to take committed action towards achieving your goals. I see myself as your GPS system, guiding you towards living your best life, while helping you to navigate the difficult thoughts and feelings that get in the way.

MC, Registered Psychologist

Stephanie Sikora

I provide an empowering and supportive space where you can both process life's challenges and learn new ways to navigate them. Sessions are collaborative, goal-oriented, and individualized to you. I also work full-time with a trained facility dog, Sophie, who provides emotional regulation and takes part in art and play-based activities for children/teens. Her adorable antics are always good for a laugh, and she’s an excellent role model for how to feel your big feelings, live in the moment, and find joy in the little things. Life is hard, but you can learn how to hold onto what matters and let go of the rest.

Whether you are seeking individual support for you or your child, or couples counselling for your relationship - you don't have to face these challenges on your own.

Growing up, I was always the person that friends confided in but never considered psychology as a career path until I experienced my own mental health challenges. When I was an undergraduate student in university, I developed OCD, health anxiety, and panic attacks, stemming from an undiagnosed chronic illness. Going through this and seeking my own counselling support made me realize just how important taking care of your mental health is. I’ve since been diagnosed with endometriosis/adenomyosis and am passionate about supporting others navigating chronic pain/illness, as well as anxiety/OCD and other mental health challenges.

I’ve always loved animals and have personally experienced how much benefit they have brought to my own mental and physical health. Dog-assisted therapy has been the perfect way to incorporate the healing powers of animals into my practice.

I believe that each person comes to therapy with a story and experience unique to them and that culture is an important piece of this story. I welcome clients from all background, provide culturally responsive and trauma-informed counselling and am a proud LGBTQ+ ally. I take yearly continuing education on cultural competency, including indigenous-focused training, but also recognize there’s always more to learn. I see you as the expert of your own life and am honoured to learn more about what makes you who you are.
